Ancient Apulian Lady of Fashion Lidded Olpe Ca. 350 B.C.Size:7-3/4”H. with lidFine black glazed, red-figure type pottery lidded olpe. Decorated with a profile “Lady of Fashion” profile head, wearing a fancy cap and long ear ornaments, highlighted in yellow and white details. Floral vines and a large palmette around the head and a white bird perched on the vine. Lid decorated in a similar fashion. Knob finial and and applied double rope handle. A minor base rim flake, otherwise intact, exc. cond. Nice example.Provenance:Ex Arte Primitivo, Ex: Collection of Robert Cummings, Palm Beach, FL. acquired mid 1960s to early 1970s. To present owner by descent.
