Description
A French carriage clock by LeRoy et Fils (LeRoy et Cie) France, early 19th century. White enamel dial signed Le Roi & Fils. Circular brass movement, verge escapement, balance wheel, adjustment. The white enamel dial with Arabic numerals, outer minute ring. Gilt metal case decorated with cornucopia, scrolling ribbons, a horn and laurel leaves. Rests on four lion paw feet, scroll formed handle. Measures 8.5" high to top of finial, 5-3/8" wide, 4" deep.
CONDITION NOTE: Missing chime bell. Not currently in well running order.
HISTORY NOTE: LeRoy et Fils (LeRoy et Cie) an exclusive clock making business, established in 1751 by Bazile Le Roy. ADDITIONAL NOTES: The glass dial cover is missing and there are some additional clock-work parts, showing in the last photo. No keys.
