Description
Thomas Grosvenor (1744-1835) Soldier. Grosvenor served in the military, and one of the famous battles he participated in was Bunker Hill. He joined the 1st Co. 3rd Connecticut Regiment, in the battle of Bunker Hill. He killed nine British soldiers, and he was also wounded in his right hand. He is depicted in the portrait, the Death of General Warren at the Battle of Bunker Hill by John Trumbull. 7 ¼” x 3 ½” document signed, January 5, 1781 “I certify that Levi Hamlin did serve as a soldier in the third Connecticut Regiment….” Included is a 7” x 6 ¾” partially printed pay order authorizing payment to Levi Hamlin, January 30, 1781 which he signs with his mark.
