L. Frank Baum (1856-1919) Author. Baum is chiefly famous for his children's books, particularly The Wonderful Wizard of Oz and its sequels. He wrote a total of 14 novels in the Oz series. He made numerous attempts to bring his works to the stage and the nascent medium of film; the 1939 adaptation of the first Oz book would become a landmark of 20th century cinema. His book, The Enchanted Island of Yew, Boobs-Merrill Company, 1903, signed on the title page. The title page is detached, the front cover also partially detached, much used children’s book, there are several random crayon “drawings” throughout, no dust jacket. Overall fair to poor condition. The title page and signature are fine, save some margin tears and slight paper loss.
