Description
Silver, gilt, and bronze Gao shrine box from the 18th - 19th century. Inside is a painted deity on fabric. The front of the Gao has a small opening for viewing the deity. Around the opening are the 8 Buddhist emblems amongst flowers and animals. It has 2 handles on each side and the back can be taken off.
Dimensions for the Gao box are 8 1/4 inches tall X 6 1/4 inches wide. All measurements are approximate.
From a San Diego, California estate. Collected in New York and San Francisco in 1980s.

It has age wear and some areas of cracking. The deity is loose inside.
