Description
We believe this trophy was won by William Butler Duncan who owned the sloop Houri. Included in the research was an article excerpt- the Houri was a 20.50 foot fin keel sloop built by the Herreshoff Company for owner Butler Duncan in 1894. According to the Mystic Seaport museum, Duncan became Vice Commodore of the New York Yacht Club in 1893. Also that the yacht changed hands in 1896 to relative E. Barton Hart Jr. Mint condition!
