Description
These medals belonged to Sgt. Otto Russell, who also received the Air Medal and Purple Heart for actions with the 64th Bomb Squadron in WWII on a B17 or B52. We have an affidavit from Otto Russells’ family in reference to this sale. The Bronze Star Medal is awarded to any person who, after December 6, 1941, while serving in the Armed Forces of the United States, distinguishes himself or herself by heroic or meritorious achievement or service, not involving participation in aerial flight. Sgt Russell’s heroics are easily found on the internet. Russell also received a Purple Heart.
