Description
A GROUP OF FOUR RUSSIAN AND RUSSIAN RELATED ENGRAVINGS, 19TH CENTURY. The first being a hand colored lithograph image of St. Nicholas, 14.25 inches x 11 inches (37 x 28.5 cm). Together with Lubock print of St. George slaying the dragon with engraved Old Church Slavonic text below and the borders with scenes from the life of St. George, 12.75 inches x 10 inches (32.5 x 25 cm). Together with a hand colored engraved plate of a Russian (Moscovite) Bishop by Pierre Giffart (1637-1723), the sheet measuring 9.8 inches x 7.5 inches (25 x 19 cm). A larger hand colored engraved plate depicting various Russian (Moscovite) ecclesial vestments, probably by Pierre Giffart, although unsigned, sheet size 15.25 inches x 9.5 inches (39 x 23.5 cm). And an engraved plate depicting a Roman Catholic Gran Priore, 12.25 inches x 8 inches (30.5 x 20 cm).
