1800's EARLY Missouri History Railroad CIVIL WAR Accusatory document towards the 15th governor of Missouri!

A fine collection of documents from the early 1800’s. These documents include interests such as:
railroad purchase and construction
interactions with Native American’s in Missouri
fascinating and bizarre sightings
Many of the documents from this lot were written or signed in the 1820s, just shortly after Missouri was admitted into the Union.

Judge David Peeler, magistrate and court judge of Howard county, appears in many of the documents.
These documents range from the early 1800’s through the Civil War era.

“In 1840 Claiborne Jackson (C.F. Jackson) very nearly found himself involved in a duel over politics. Writing anonymously to a Fayette, Missouri newspaper, Jackson made accusations that the Whig candidate for Missouri Governor that year, John B. Clark, was guilty of election fraud.”
