Item Details

Description

This is a Tall and interesting carved wooden image from the Kongo peoples of the Congo/ DRC , central Africa. Featuring a bold and powerful spirit figure completely covered with old nails driven into the body of the figure. Of special note are the tall rabbit like ears and glass eyes. Such idols are known as "N'kisi" and were used as mediums to the spirit world. A fairly large and heavy example, note the 2nd head in the belly. Measures 23 inches tall x 8.5 inches wide.
