A Chinese blue and white porcelain ewer, having baluster shape body, with bulbous belly everted the tall waisted neck toward flared rim, raised on a splayed footed base. A tall straight spout flanked on the collar, extended graciously upward giving wider appearance. The exterior is hand painted in blue underglaze against white ground of morning glory blooms and scrolling tendril. Banded with rings and geometrical ribbons. Mark on interior foot, six blue script -KaiShu- characters, XuanDe Reign Period of Great Ming.
