A very collectible true first edition of one of the classic twelve-book children’s series. Pub. 1907 by Longmans, Green and Co. Eight full-color, full-page illustrations plus numerous b/w illustrations by H. J. Ford. All edges gilt. Original olive cloth covered boards with gilt titling and illustration of a fairy princess in gilt on the cover. Tips worn through. Fraying to head and foot of spine. Small stain on front cover. Hinges tight. Spine sunned somewhat. Minimal evidence of being ex-library (light library stamps on rear cover, pen marking on cover/spine, library stamps inside front cover and small blank pocket inside rear cover). Interior mostly clean with a marking here and there on a few pages. 336 pages. 5.25 x 7.375.
