Description
Joseph Perrin (American (active Georgia), 1923-2014). "Still Life w/ Yellow Scarf" -1950, oil on canvas, signed to lower left "Joseph". A Fauvist style still life painting depicting scattered fruits, a bowl and a vase on colorful 'drapery'. Inscribed on verso on canvas "PERRIN" and "Perrin 1950". White label stapled to frame "Mr. and Mrs. Richard Wayfield/oil 24 x 28"/Still Ilfe with Yellow Scarf"/1950/NFS Value $1400.00". Framed approximately 31" X 35.5". Sight 24" x 28". Note: Joseph S. Perrin studied aeronautical engineering at Georgia Tech before falling in love with the arts during a trip to Paris in the 1940s. Upon returning to the U.S., Perrin enrolled at the High Museum School of Art, the Ringling College of Art and Design and The University of Georgia, where he studied fine art. Perrin’s work is held in the permanent collections of the High Museum of Art, the Coca-Cola Collection and the Carter Presidential Center among others.
