Rome, Imperial Period, ca. 2nd to 4th century CE. A free-blown green glass unguent used to hold precious oils for the most elite members of society, its classic form with a dimpled base, bulbous lower section, tall tubular neck, and dramatically flared folded rim. Glass has now developed areas of deep silvery and rainbow iridescence. Size: 4" H (10.2 cm)
