Two (2) 1918 Federal Reserve bank notes, $1 and $2. 1st item: $1 "Flying Eagle" bank note dated 1918 from the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, depicting the portrait of George Washington, obverse. Vignette of an eagle holding the American flag, reverse. Serial # C50556551A/ pp C. FR # 717. Elliott/Burke/Dyer/Norris signatures. 2nd item: $2 "Battleship" bank note dated 1918 from the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston, Massachusetts, depicting the portrait of Thomas Jefferson, engraved by James Smillie (New York, 1807-1885), obverse. Vignette of a battleship, circa 1914, reverse. Serial # A8383017A/ pp A. FR # 748. Elliott/Burke/Willett/Morss signatures. Provenance: the collection of the late James A.
