BIOGRAPHY: Michel Lablais (b. 1925, France) is a surrealistic and symbolic visual artist who often incorporates collage and found objects into his work, often working in graphite, gouache and watercolor.
Lablais has participated in group exhibitions at the Museum of Modern Art, New York (The Art of Assemblage), 1964; the Museum of Modern Art of the City of Paris (Boxes), 1976 and the Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris (Donation Daniel Cordier). He also illustrated an article in the publication RealitΓ©s (October 1954) on the Amok tribe in New Caledonia as well as texts by Bernard Noel and AndrΓ©e Chedid.
