AMBLET, CIRCA 1880, baluster form on acobalt blue ground on spindle mounted bases, the domed lids with gilt bronze pineapple finials and raised gilt decoration of acanthus scrolls, the waisted necks with gilt acanthus scroll and diaper pattern decoration centering gilt floral sprays, the body with gilt acanthus bordered oval reserve with hand painted scene of two young ladies and a young man in a rustic woodland setting on one vase, the other with two young men and a young lady in a riverside park setting, a nest with bird in her lap and one young man holding a bird, signed "F. Amblet," the verso of the first with gilt grass bordered oval reserve with hand painted architectural ruins with carved sign "DOMAINE DE LA VERITE," the other with a rustic riverside architectural scene, with chased gilt bronze winged figures at the sides, mounted on rotating spindles on waisted bases with matching gilt decoration, raised on shaped square gilt bronze bases with acanthus leaf mounts at the corners. In overall fair to good condition, one vase with old restoration to the cover. The other vase with old restoration to the neck. Overall rubbing and wear to gilt decoration commensurate with age and use, rubbing and wear to gilt bronze mounts.
