An elegant four piece Victorian Francis Boone Thomas Sterling Silver Coffee and Tea Service, from London, England, circa 1900. Every piece of silver has been marked on the base with the lion passant symbol, the English sterling mark, the leopard's head, P, Thomas, 53 New Bond Street. This service has a fantastic design of bulbous foliage and detail flowers. The pots look plump and are elegantly decorated with floral detail. Each has a decorative series of curved, and convex flutings, a style on silver work known as gadrooning. The interior of the sugar bowl and the creamer have a lovely gold wash to them. The coffee pot measures 7 1/4 inches, the tea pot is 6 1/2 inches tall, the creamer is 3 1/2 inches and the sugar cube bowl is 3 by 3 1/2 inches. All of them together weigh 48.2 troy ounces. The sugar bowl has a date code that corresponds to 1905. This Coffee and Tea Service has some slight wear, as commensurates with age. The tea pot has four dents to the gadrooning around the base, but other than this it works perfectly. The lid on both the tea and the coffee pot close and open perfectly and each has a fantastic dark wooden handle and flower finial up top. The sugar bowl has a small dent to the gadrooning at the base. The creamer has four small dents and a warped rim, the latter is barely noticeable, especially within the very organic designs of the set. All of these little imperfections do not take away from the quality of the silver and the pleasure of using this lovely silver set for an afternoon coffee or tea.
