Description
American (North Carolina), 20th century. A stoneware pig by Billy Ray Hussey (b. 1955) with handle running down body, in brown glaze with red, green and white drops on top. Incised on body Fast Pigging on one side and Fast Drinking (?) on the other, behind marked XXI and BH, PLUS a piggy bank by Marie Rogers (b. 1922), having a textured surface in dark brown glaze with cream highlights, the mounted rider with GA MAN across his chest and a small dog perched on the back. Underside incised Marie Rogers with illegible text; Hussey pig ht. 6.5, wd. 3.75, dp. 10 in., bank ht. 7, wd. 4.25, dp. 7.75 in.Â
