30 leaves of color plates of the Nikko? To?sho?gu? shrine with accompanying descriptive text pages in English and Japanese, small map affixed to inner front wrapper. (Oblong 4to), decorative wrappers bound with string.
Nikk? T?sh?-g? is a Shinto shrine located in Nikk?, Tochigi Prefecture, Japan.?T?sh?-g? is dedicated to Tokugawa leyasu, the founder of the Tokugawa shogunate. It was initially built in 1617, during the Edo period, while Ieyasu's son Hidetada was shogun. It was enlarged during the time of the third shogun, lemitsu. Leyasu is enshrined there, where his remains are also entombed.
Condition
Edgewear to wrappers with some creasing and minor chips; light toning and foxing to text pages and plate margins, plate colors bright; very good.
