VICTORIAN ROSE GOLD WOVEN-HAIR BRACELETS, LOT OF TWO, tested 10-14K, each with wide band, one with complex weaving and engraved mounts. Second half 19th century. 2 1/4" D closed, 6 1/2" and 7" L open.
Excellent condition, larger example with some very minor fraying.
Provenance: Property deaccessioned from a Virginia institution to benefit the collections and conservation funds.
From the multi-generational family collection of the late Miss Mattie D. Spotswood (1885-1891) of "Stirling Castle", 320 High St., Petersburg, VA, a descendent of Gov. Alexander Spotswood.
