Description
NIPPON PORCELAIN HORSES VASE, ovoid form, two handles with molded design at base, hand-painted polychrome image of a man on a horse in water with landscape and intricate gilt design on shoulder with polychrome beading. Green "M" within a wreath for Morimura Brothers. 1911-1921. 12 5/8" H.
Undamaged with wear to gilding on handles, one side of foot, and rim.
Literature: Design similar to the "Man on a Horse" as in Van Patten - ABC's of Collecting Nippon Porcelain, p. 233.
