Figurine - "Polish Welcome", 19th/20th Century, Rudolstadt - Volkstedt, Germany; porcelain; 16 x 20 cm; underneath the stamp 'N' under the crown - repetition of marking by the workshops of Naples; The artwork is a copy of Meissen figurine created by Johann Joachim Kändler. That model was known under the name "Der polnische Handkuss" and realised circa 1740. The figures of the "Polish Men” achieved popularity in the epoch. Models by Kändler were repeated in the second half of 19th century among many European companies
