Description
Unusual Luster glaze Newcomb College vase and separate stand done by Sadie Irvine in 1931. The drip glaze with lustrous qualities has shades of rose, peach, green and tan throughout. Marks include the Newcomb College logo, the date code (SY) for 1931, the initials of potter Jonathan Hunt and the incised monogram of the artist. The matching base has only an incised monogram which is probably that of the artist. Combined height is 8 1/8 inches. There is light, faint crazing. Good color and nice gloopy glaze.
