One-and-a-Half-Gallon Stoneware Batter Pail with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "EVAN R. JONES / PITTSTON, PA", circa 1875, ovoid pail with tubular pouring spout, handle at base on reverse, and wood-and-wire bail handle, decorated on the reverse with a large brushed tulip. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark, surrounding base of spout, and accenting the applied clay ears. A minuscule nick to spout. Some fry to cobalt. Some faint surface lines to side of pail at shoulder, not visible on interior.
