c. mid-19th Century. Great condition. 23"h x 27" x 9". Provenance: The Acacia Collection. Seabrook became the first white teacher at Shaw School for ‘Negroes' after the war for 26 years. The Shaw School was founded by abolitionists in memory of Robert-Gould Shaw. Mrs. Seabrook was the widow of Rev. Joseph Baynard Seabrook founder of St. Mark's Episcopal Church (African American) being first white rector. Donor was Granddaughter. Est. $200-300. Ship: $125
