Coin-Operated "Electric Sailor", c. 1910
Cast-iron electric shock machine, probably by Polyphon Musikwerke, Leipzig. 25 in. high. Coin slot 5 American cent. Placing a coin in the sailor's shirt pocket and holding both of his hands while pushing back his right arm causes him to wink as he dispenses an electric shock. He winks his left eye, then his right and then both eyes shine at the same time. Good working condition! - With lock and key. - Literature: Nic Costa, "Automatic Pleasures", p. 144. - A giant rarity!

Gußeiserner Elektrisier-Automat, Hersteller vermutlich Polyphon Musikwerke, Leipzig. Höhe: 62 cm. Münzeinwurf 5 US-Cent. Nachdem man eine Münze in die Tasche des Jacketts gesteckt hat, faßt man beide Hände des Seemanns an, drückt den rechten Arm nach unten und bekommt einen elektrischen Schock, erst blinkt ein Auge, dann das andere und zuletzt beide Augen. In gutem funktionstüchtigem Zustand! Mit Schloß und Schlüssel. - Literatur: Nic Costa, "Automatic Pleasures", S. 144. - Riesen-Rarität!
