Ancient Seas, ca. 521 to 252 million years ago. A trilobite, preserved in matrix, with excellent detail remaining and fully exposed spines. The trilobite (meaning three-lobes) was a marine arachnomorph arthropod that seems to have been one of the most ubiquitous animals from the Early Cambrian to the Late Permian, when they were killed during the mass extinction at the end of the Permian period. They had an easily fossilized exoskeleton, which you see clearly on this specimen. Comes in protective glass case. Size: 2.75" L x 1.5" W x 0.6" H (7 cm x 3.8 cm x 1.5 cm); 3.7" H (9.4 cm) on included custom stand.

Mostly excavated from matrix. Longest spine has been repaired. Very nice detail.
