Description
6th-7th century AD. A bronze cruciform brooch of Anglian type comprising a square headplate with raised trapezoidal panel and three D-shaped lobes, deep bow with lateral recesses and central rectangular pad; footplate with lappets, each with scroll detailing, and transverse collar below; to the reverse, the pin-lugs and catchplate in place; the lobes each with a stylised human mask in Salin's Style I; crescent punchmarks to the edges of the footplate, lappets and lobes.
