Description
The Strait of Magalhaens commonly called Magellan Surveyed in His Majesty's Ships Adventure and Beagle by Captain Phillip Parkerking, R. N. F. R. S., &c. and Captain Robert Fitz Roy, R. N. 1826-30, 1832-34 (London: Hydrographical Office of the Admiralty, May 2nd 1832), the sheet being cut into 15 squares and backed with a sheet of linen for durability. Unframed.
This revision of the original 1832 map boldly credits Captain Fitz Roy's celebrated 1832-1834 expedition on the HMS Beagle, which has become famous through its close association with the young Charles Darwin.
