Description
Meiji period (1868-1912), deeply cast bronze and finely worked with raised tigers in a landscape with incised bamboo leaves, a band of regal phoenixes with outspread wings is right below the rim of the planter, the body of the vessel is raised on four fu lion feet, it is surprisingly unmarked on the bottom for such a quality example of Meiji period bronze work.
