Description
Nr. 1294908 with 50mm Elcan f2 lens Nr. 276-0468. Made in Canada in 1972 for the United States Army and specially engraved, the KE-7A was made to withstand temperatures down to -20 degrees Farenheit and dust sealed. The 50mm Elcan "Type 276" lens - produced for the KE-7A - was made with infrared-absorbing glass made with lanthanum, a radioactive element that helps acheive a high refractive index for heat control. The "Civilian" cameras were production overrun of the KE-7A camera, and approximately 55 were ever made - far fewer than the U.S. Army model. The original factory "C" seal is intact and the camera is working. Very rare and very fine.
