This work is an example of Pablo Picasso’s (Spanish, 1881-1973) famed line drawings. Skillfully drawn with a well thought-out line in ink rendering, this work features a mythical horned figure resembling a satyr. This minimalist approach still shows the contoured detailing of the satyr’s face, remarkably showing his beard and horns. Measuring 8 inches x 6 inches (20.32 cm x 15.24 cm), it is signed with the Spanish artist’s signature and dated 1952 at the bottom. On verso, it appears that the line drawing was drawn on the back of grid paper.
