8vo, 200x130 mm; quarter calf binding with floreal blinding tools, pp. 317, [3]; 48 litographic plates out text. Slight signs of foxing, nice specimen.

Condition

Beautiful edition illustrated. They are narrated, "history, description and current customs" of Israel and other places in the Middle East. The plates depict: Jerusalem and its inhabitants, the mountains of the Olives, the Temple of Solomon, the mosque of Omar, the pulpit of the Christian churches, the interior of the Holy Sepulcher, the Golden Gate, Mount Zion, the tombs of Giosefat and Assalonne places related to the life of Jesus; also views of several cities, including Thebes, Nineveh, Babylon, Damascus, Corinth and the islands, Cyprus, Rhodes, Patmos.
