Group of 4 manuscript letters, three of which are from David Paul Brown (Abolitionist, lawyer), and the other being a reply to David Paul Brown from Peter H. Watson (Assistant Secretary of War.) Brown was representing Major Robert Parrish Jr. in Court Martial proceedings. Included are: ** 1: Letter to Robert Parrish from David Brown, June 8, 1862, 1 p. 4to, Very Good with some creases. ** 2: Letter to Edwin M. Stanton (U.S. Secretary of War), April 10, 1862. 1 p., 8" x 6.5", Brown writes of his high opinion of Robert Parrish and asks for some relief on Parrish's behalf. Very Good. ** 3: Letter to Robert Parrish from David Brown, March 17, 1862. 1 p. 4to. Creases, Very Good. ** 4: Letter in pencil to David Brown from P.H. Watson, Asst. Sec. of War, acknowledging receipt of Brown's letter. April 17, 1862. 9" x 4", cut from larger sheet. All Very Good.
