Description
THIS IS AN IMPORTANT IMPERIAL DRAGON FOO DOG JADE BRUSH QIANLONG EMPEROR'S COLLECTION. Chinese dragons are legendary creatures in Chinese mythology and Chinese folklore. The dragons have many animal-like forms such as turtles and fish, but are most commonly depicted as snake-like with four legs. Chinese dragons traditionally symbolize potent and auspicious powers, particularly control over water, rainfall, typhoons, and floods. The dragon is also a symbol of power, strength, and good luck for people who are worthy of it. With this, the Emperor of China usually used the dragon as a symbol of his imperial power and strength.Of the many different varieties of Chinese jade, Hetian jade is considered to be one of the most valuable, and also happens to be the most well-known of jade varieties. For most of time, Hetian jade was a term used only to refer to jade mined from the Kunlun Mountains of Xinjiang, in the Western Autonomous Region of China that borders Mongolia and Russia. The exquisite material mined from Xinjiang has been prized for thousands of years for its greasy luster and exceptionally strong color. The name 'Hetian' jade was assigned after the transliteration of the small oasis town of Hotan or 'Hetian', which is located in South-Western Xinjiang. Since it is also named Hotan (or Hetian), Hetian jade may sometimes be referred to as Hotan jade as well. For 7000 years, jade to Chinese had always meant creamy, tender nephrite with its quiet beauty. This is one of the finest and rarest imperial jade dragon writing brush with foo dog head. The brush measures: 230 x 25 x 23(mm) or 9.06 x 0.98 x 0.91(inches) Weight 0.51 lbs/230 g. The wooden stand no included. IT LOOKS MAGNIFICENT IN PERSON!!
