Neo-Babylonian Cornelian Cylinder Seal with Archer, c. 800-600 B.C.
Cut entirely with the cutting wheel, the scene consists of a kneeling archer shooting at a reared-up horned animal with head turned backwards. As filler there is a star in the space between the animalês hind parts, the archerês knees and a lunar crescent in the sky.
Comes with description and dating by Professor W.G. Lambert of the Birmingham University U.K.
