Description: A Chinese white jade inset gilt metal box. The exceptionally large white jade ruyi plaque carved with Shoulao in a landscape beneath a pine tree amidst deer and a bat, metal exterior complimenting with Shoulao, deer and lingzhi, metal box gilding extensively worn.

Lot 14: Gilt metal box with jade insert on top. The box is in overall good condition, the hinge appears to be in good condition, the jade on the top seems to be in very good condition with a crack to the lower left side which radiates out from the edge of the jade plaque which can be felt with a fingernail and it extends approximately 1 ½ cm away from the edge of the jade plaque, although not particularly unsightly seeing as it located away from the main subject matter on the jade. The interior of the box has losses to the gilt and normal oxidation commensurate with age.
