Description: A Chinese cinnabar lacquer box and a cover of circular form. Carved with a female figure holding a lotus, possibly Bixia yuanjun, with two children in a landscape of trees and rocks, against a diapered ground. The sides of box and cover with a diamond diaper pattern. The base and interior lacquered black.

Size 8 1/8", 15.5 cm.
