finely potted in wide body, with swelled round shoulder, waisted gracefully down to flat base, with short neck leading to a banded rim and narrow opening. The exterior decorated with four sepia color hand painting of ChiWen dragon also known for its love of swallowing things and its power over water. It can suppress evil and extinguish fires. Depicted spouting water borne amidst dense of clouds over wavy ocean and rocky mountain, all enclosed within ovoid shaped cartouches. Sets over attractive reddish-brown pudding stone patterned ground. Banded with gilt overglazed rings on rim, foot and cartouches.
The porcelain conformed all required specimen to be high valued Chinese porcelain wares, with finest material, the whiteness, the glaze, the drawing, and the shape. Without overlap the outlines of the design, well drew, clear, subtle, and distinct. The clay is fine and exquisite, the glaze smooth, brilliant with a moist appearance, the finishing meticulous. In Fengshui theory, a ChiWen or ChiWen supposedly protects against not only fire, but also flood and typhoon.


Mark on base, a six liver-red seal script -ZhuanShu- characters reign mark, QianLong Reign Period of Great Qing.
