Description
Greece, Hellenistic period, ca. late 4th to 3rd centuries BCE. A hollow, mold-made votive figure of a goddess with flowing clothing and headdress/diadem, standing in contrapposto as the drapery folds of her garments flow over the contours of her body, holding a staff or a stalk of wheat in her left hand. Votive figures like this one were sold as offerings at temples or made to be kept in home altars. Size: 8.25" L x 3.375" W (21 cm x 8.6 cm)

Provenance: private Carlton Collection, Los Angeles, California, USA, acquired between 1965 and 1980
