Description

The Copper Shop, Oakland, CA (Bessie Whitaker & Jane Brandon) hammered copper candle sconce with cutout floral motif. The stylized grass blades are done almost exactly the was Ernest Burnley did his cutouts. This evidence suggests that Burnley may have worked at The Copper Shop c1913-1915. Burnley opened his own studio (along with Robert Mills) in Oakland in 1921. Excellent new patina. Signed. 9″h x 3 5/8″. We box and ship ourselves, to keep shipping costs low. We do not use a packaging service, unless the customer prefers us to use them. We can ship either USPS or Fed Ex Ground. Spend $5000 or more at this auction and all of your SHIPPING IS FREE with in the lower 48 states.
