Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 1st to 3rd century CE. A hefty iron lance blade from the Roman Empire. The blade has a slender diamond-shaped profile which gradually tapers to a thick point. It has a narrow neck and a socketed shaft on the other end for securing to a wooden pole. Size: 9.5" H (24.1 cm); 10" H (25.4 cm) on included custom stand.

Provenance: ex-estate of John Piscopo - Mr. Piscopo was one of the largest collectors of ancient weapons in the US with a collection that spanned all cultures and all ages.
