Description
Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 1st to 3rd century CE. A disc-shaped lead votive with relief artwork on one side depicting five triremes circling the edge, around a motif of waves, then smaller ships around a many-spoked wheel. The other side has a pentagram-style image with an ankh-like motif inside of it. Made to be given as an offering in a temple, perhaps for protection at sea. Size: 2.75" W (7 cm)

Slight bending to form with one minor loss from edge. Motifs are very clear and not impacted by the loss. Nice grey patina.
