Description
Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Nayarit, ca. 300 BCE to 300 CE. A rare find, a hand-molded cream-colored pottery jar with a square shape and lid whose sides curve down to protect the interior. Presumably this was made to be put into a tomb with some small offerings. Size: 5.2" W x 2.7" H (13.2 cm x 6.9 cm)
Provenance: Ex-Private LA County collection acquired in the 1980's
