A GROUP OF TWO FRENCH GILT METAL JEWELRY CASKETS WITH FOIL ENHANCED LIMOGES ENAMEL PLAQUES, PARIS OR LIMOGES, CIRCA 1880-1900, the stamped gilt metal caskets fitted with brilliant foil overlay Limoges enamel portrait roundels within laurel leaf bezels centering domed diamond pattern top, one example with incurved sides with wreaths suspended on ribbons and acanthus swags raised on Greek meander plinth, the other with staggered flutes with foliate centers, raised on scrolled acanthus feet, height: 3", width: 5"; both marked on the bottom "FRANCE." Height: 2 1/8" Width: 4 7/8"

Condition

In overall fair to good condition with surface rubbing and wear commensurate with age and use, the interiors fitted with cream velvet lining which has desicated.
