Technique: Original Hand Signed Drypoint on Wove Paper
Paper size: 33.5 x 47 cm. / 13.2 x 18.5 in.
Image size: 25 x 30 cm. / 9.8 x 11.8 in.
Additional Information: This original drypoint is hand signed in pencil by the artist "Lovis Corinth" at the lower right corner.
It is also numbered in pencil “No.7” at the lower left margin, from the standard edition of 100, which was published by Verlag von Othmar Kern & Co. in Pasing-Muenchen, 1920.
The artist’s monogram is also found in the upper left image.
Other impressions of this etching can be found in the collection of the British Museum and the National Gallery of Art, Washington, D.C.
Note:
This drypoint is a reversed image of Corinth's painting 'Frauenraub' which was executed in 1904. It was exhibited during the 1905 Berlin Secession. The whereabouts of the painting are regrettably unknown. The subject of Women Raiders’ is a classical or mythologicala subject matter, which is typical of Corinth’s work at this time.

Condition: Good condition. Red mould damage to the left margin. A minor paperloss to the lower left corner. Minor nicks along the sheet edges. Image in good condition.
