Notes/Literature: Louis Beal was founder of legendary NYC interior architecture firm Interior Space Design (ISD). A student of Walter Gropius, an early apprentice of Florence Knoll, inductee into the Interior Design Hall of Fame, and life trustee of Rhode Island School of Design, Beal's Manhattan apartment was furnished with custom designs and antiques, some used as prototypes for contemporary furniture by design luminaries including close friend John Vesey
