Description
Of architectural pavilion form, the hexagonal pedestal base rising to the central open galleried section, each with cylindrical columns supportng the arched roof and with ornate pierced balustrades, the roof with shou symbols and auspicious clouds decorated in relief, the top surmounted with a rounded finial. The interior with an associated gilt-bronze figure of bodhisattva, the base sealed, seated in dhyanasana upon double lotus throne with right hand resting on leg, left hand holding a bowl in dhyana mudra, wearing loose-fitting robe falling in elegant folds, the serene face with downcast eyes and gentle smile flanked by pendulous earlobes, the head with tall ushnisha with tight curls. Qing Dynasty Qianlong period.
