The Superocean model has remained in Breitling line-up since it’s introduction in 1957. The Superocean Abyss is a beefed up version built to withstand the rigors of sea, surf and sand.
With a water-resistance rating of 1,500 meters and a helium-release valve, for use in a diving chamber, the Superocean Abyss is a tool watch with professional diving capabilities.
The case of the SuperOcean Abyss is hermetically sealed and impervious to moisture and dust, which is important for the Chronometer rated, automatic mechanical Calibre 17 movement (ETA 2824).
It’s bi-directional bezel, with integrated machined italic numerals that sit flush to the rubber molded insert is totally new with respect to any previous Breitling diver’s watch.

Oversized hands harmonize with the large italic numerals and make low light and murky water diving a non-issue, as does the liberal amounts of applied superluminova.
The beautiful fully polished original professional II bracelet and yellow accent color scheme for the seconds hand, the chapter ring and the date window add the individuality of the watch.
